Approach to Evaluations
I conduct a range of psychological evaluations. Some examinations clarify an individual's diagnosis or address treatment considerations. Other evaluations address matters of psychological functioning as it relates to the law. This includes medical-legal examinations for injuries, functional capacity consultative exams for the determination of disability benefits, employment evaluations, and civil commitment examinations for criminal offenders, amongst others. Each case is approached with an open-mind and objectivity. I take the time during my examinations to get at the relevant aspects of the case to produce a comprehensive report that explains the how and why of my findings in a clear manner. I believe that it is important to fully understand how the applicant sees his or her life circumstances and day to day functioning. With Spanish-speaking applicants, I am able to communicate directly in their native language to ensure all of the pertinent factors in the case are fully addressed.
